really liked it

I really enjoyed reading this picture book. It is a cute book that shows Max and Ruby hunting to find the most eggs to win the chocolate chicken. Max and Ruby are brother and sister. Ruby finds all of the eggs, while Max doesn't find any. Max runs back and hides from Ruby. He eats all of the chocolate chicken. Ruby looks everywhere for him, but cannot find him. Max said that he did this to Ruby because he loves her. The pictures confirm the meaning that the author is portraying with written words. I would use this book for a read aloud with emergent readers. A lot of the words within the book are easy to pronounce and I think that an emergent reader would do good with this book. An issue that could be raised in this book is stealing, like when Max stole Ruby's chocolate chicken and ate it.
