This seemed right up my alley. Disturbed retellings of fairy tales. Quirky humor. Fun heroines. So where did it go wrong with me? First off you start the narrative in a place I would never consider a satisfactory beginning. The Cinderella character has already gotten married and her prince-husband is missing. Sleeping Beauty and Snow White, who are legends for their tales join in the hunt. Sounds fun. But for me the whole book I was playing catch up. Learning details the characters already knew. I liked parts. I loved the idea. I loved the unique and twisted takes on the fairy tales, much more like Grimm than Disney. I probably won't continue with the series but I might try the author again.

I recommend this to those who usually disagree with my tastes. Lol.
