Better Days (Serenity, #2.1)
Slightly better than the first volume, it suffers many of the same problems. The third act felt incomplete, and one of the twists came out of nowhere (no setup, and barely a panel or two devoted to it before it occurs). The resolution of the villains felt sloppy--one just randomly decides he's going to team up with the crew of Serenity, and the other, well, it's unclear why he's even involved and has such a hatred for Mal.
