I requested this one because I've taken an interest in youkai, Japanese goblins/spirits/monsters from tradition and folklore.

This book is actually about storytellers and stories from Asian cultures ranging from the Indian subcontinent through southeast Asia and the Asian Pacific. The first chapter is about the storytellers themselves. The intent of the book, and the storytellers, is to pass on the culture and sense of community inherent in the stories.

The stories are wonderful but I'm just not in the mood to read all of them for now.
