It took me a little while to get into this one, but once I got into it I couldn't put it down. Though the story seemed familiar at first - a dystopia in the vein of The Giver , The Lottery , etc. - the characters drew me in. Katniss Everdeen, the strong female protagonist is well developed, as are the other characters within the book. And while the story had elements like those in the previously mentioned dystopias, it was also very original and the cliffhanger ending indicates there may be more to come, something which would make this reader very happy.
