really liked it
bookshelves: filmed-as-movie-tv

Currently feels like a 3star book, I am 72% in and it drags, while the POV from Alison is funny and interesting, the one from the MC is not always, too single-mindedly focused on his #1 suspect, which I am still not sure is the right one. You can keep the guessing game only interesting so long, and I am now losing it.
Also I have another one as a suspect in mind, and hope for surprise, but it will not be one, if it is my guess...

OK, so now I am finished, and was nicely surprised, but still, this is 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 for a first in a series, and it was good, but I am still not sure wether I will read more of this series (and there are too many). Tom Thorne is well written, but not really my favorite MC, I prefer female ones. Setting is good, being in the UK and there are some typical differences to US based stories, so there is that.
Epilogue was nearly what I guessed to happen, so that was no real surprise.
Recommended with reluctance.
