it was amazing

A great collection that includes the amusing Farmer Giles of Ham, some Tolkien's poetry, but most importantly his "Essay on Faerie Stories" and accompanying allegorical short-story "Leaf by Niggle". The essay is difficult in parts, because he assumes his audience has an extensive background in the genre, such as the Lang Fairy Tale collection, but contains crucial reflections that reveal Tolkien's own works, especially the crucial relation between men and Elves. "Leaf by Niggle" allegorically presents Tolkien's understanding of the sub-creative desire that drove him to his great labors.
