This and "Nourishing Traditions" explain the most comprehensive and logical approach to complete nutrition and health that I have ever read. Being a hobby-student of evolution, I especially appreciate the multi-generational perspective taken by Shanahan: our health today has a direct and concrete impact on the genetic and epigenetic expression of our children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Complete nutrition and health is the ultimate family heirloom. This book is a great manual for understanding why and how to make the most of it.
