did not like it
bookshelves: travel, nonfiction

I love travel writing and was really looking forward to reading this book. Sadly for me, about a third of the way through I realized that I wasn't reading a book about Italy or travel, I was reading a very long, very dry book about home improvement that just happened to take place in Tuscany.

Stephanie Doesn't this book take place in Italy? Tuscany, even?

Stephanie Hee. As I recall, this book just made me HUNGRY.

If you want to read books about France and social customs (and food) I do recommend the Peter Mayle 'A Year in Provence' books.

Cinco You know, I think I read the first one, was there a whole section on wine from Burgundy? I wonder if I only read the first couple of chapters? I should go get that from the used bookstore, they always have about five copies.

Stephanie I don't remember! I remember the bits about the food, not the wine.
