Stephan King called HP Lovecraft the greatest horror story writer of the 20th century. Can't get a higher accolade than that. He always lived in Providence RI and he died young and poor in the '30's. It's his delving into the supernatural that grabs you with his work. Some of his work is just definitive of the genre. He was a prolific writer for the pulp Weird Tales. I chose this book because it's one of his longest and best works.

There is a press in Sauk Prairie, WI called Arkham Press started by HP Lovecraft's friend August Derleth. We who have read HP Lovecraft know the evil emanating out of the city named Arkham!
