This book was a lot of fun, revealing more about vampire laws and society (such as it is), and more about Vayl's past. Jaz and Vayl (and Dave!) brace a Vayl's old Trust (a coven/nest of vampires) to get access to their old enemy. Things have gone oddly wrong in the Trust, and in the process of finding out why, Vayl is bonded for 50 years with the new leader of the trust, who is a vampire he once turned himself. This finally pushes Jaz to be more honest about how she feels about Vayl. Finally.

I like the heavy-handed but honest treatment of PTSD in these books, and of course the action and cool gadgets. In fact, there's not a lot I don't like about them. Definitely light reading, but some of my favorite light reading these days. :)
