really liked it
Read from July 13 to 14, 2012

Can't figure out the significance of the title in a specific way. Can't figure out what her mother was right about on the last page - it seemed she meant keeping her daughter would be devastating, but Diana's comments and ending observations do not indicate this. There were so many opinions/ideas about which her mother was right. Many times throughout I found myself thinking that Diana could go either way and to me, if she rebelled, that would be the tragedy. Was it nature or nurture that kept her devoted to her mother? Certainly Peacie was a key factor in helping her understand the bigger picture and to not become self-absorbed and feeling sorry for herself. Paige was an inspiration, but so were Diana and Peacie.
I hope to read more by Berg.
I don't like that the publisher's description on the dust jacket said Diana was 14, but she was 13 in the story.
