This book tells the story of a courageous military officer who throughout his career challenged the military establishment on multiple issues. His actions undoubtedly cost him his career, but he continued to maintain an irreproachable level of integrity.
I would recommend this book to anyone interested in 20th Century military history. Boyd is not well-known, but he certainly left an impact on America's military.

As a side note, my one criticism would be the author is not very critical of Boyd on military issues. I feel he was more willing to point out Boyd's personal flaws than admit that some of Boyd's ideas or causes were less than perfect. However, this could probably be expected and does not take much away from the book.
