My daughter's preschool did not teach reading nor phonics so I found she was a little behind some of the other children by not being able to read when entering Kindergarten. Her younger sister is now in preschool so I am using this book to assist her to be prepared for Kindergarten. We still are very near the beginning of the book but I can see already the value these lessons are having. Luckily the lessons are short because she finds them repetative and boring at times but I can see it already improving her awareness of clear word pronunciation, phonics, and understanding rhyming. (One tip I picked up for using this book is using puppets or stuffed animals to help the lesson be more fun. That does seem to help.)
