it was amazing

What a wonderful memoir from the always funny and thoughtful Steve Martin. This book is all about the beginning of his career as a stand-up comedian, not a full biography. The story ends when he quits the stage. It was so well written, personable, and warm that I felt like I was sitting with a favorite uncle as he recalled his amazing tales from the road.
I must say, I was sad when the book was over. I almost didn't want to finish it so there would be at least one more chapter from good old 'Uncle Steve'. I hope one day he writes a sequel book about the second half of his career, when he became a sucessful film actor. I greatly recommend this book!
