it was ok

OK, let's be real, this is a DNF for me. Interesting premise - three linked crime novels, told in the style of: Simenon, Chandler, and Thompson. I got through the first two (though I haven't tackled Simenon's work yet), then wondered why I just didn't go re-read Chandler and Thompson, instead of continuing with this.

That's just me, and I'm cranky and curmudgeonly - its a pretty damned good idea, but the actual writing didn't compel me to pick it up. Good structure, format, and plot, but duplicating the voices of those three authors is a pretty high mark to hit.
