For someone so scattered, Clementine sure is mature. I like her and the book a lot this time around (unlike the second book) ...probably because she got into troubles and now can see her own part in creating these issues and is mature enough to learn from the experiences. I love the explanation of why her teacher is not referred to by name: that was a big issue for me for the last installment...because it is unnatural and not done that third graders won't call their homeroom teacher by his last or first name! Things are wrapped up nicely both at home and in school without being too pat or too hasty.
