Most of the previous steampunk I've read has a certain amount of humor and playfulness to it. This was a much darker, near post-apocalyptic version of the genre.

After I got a bit more used to that, I found myself enjoying the tale as it unfolded. I enjoyed the background question around identity. What it means for ill and for good to carry the weight of your family's legacy. It could have pushed a little more on self-identity when in the shadow of another's identity, but I did like what was there.

There were occasional times when the words coming out of Zeke's mouth seemed too modern, and that pulled a bit from the story.

And as an audio, Kate Reading and Wil Wheaton were fabulous.
