it was ok
bookshelves: escapism

** spoiler alert ** While I found this book mildly amusing at times, it was really just so-so. Not as good as the author's first novel, Something Borrowed, for sure.

The main character, Claudia, is a selfish girl. She believes that she doesn't want to have kids and is willing to ruin a great relationship because she doesn't want children to cramp her style. Then she decides that okay, she'll agree to a baby as long as she can have her husband back because this single life at 35 isn't cool. Never once did she think about the child that she might have (but hopefully doesn't). I think it would be ironic if she couldn't have children like her sister after all she says about despising the idea of having children.

Despite the fact that I didn't really didn't like the ending scene (yeah right that Ben was going to say EXACTLY what she came to say after acting so aloof and putting off meeting her for so long), I did find that I didn't mind reading it. After all, it is chic lit and I guess you don't usually get a whole lot more than a fun, escapist read.
