Another great entry in the Horus Heresy series. I quite enjoyed this one, because I knew the basic history of Corax and the Raven Guard, but had never really read the specifics. That is one of the problems, although it doesn't take away from the enjoyment of the book. I basically knew what was coming and kept hoping for a different outcome, even though I knew the conclusion was inevitable. This book also stars the Alpha Legion, which gave me some mixed feelings. I kind of like the Alpha Legion, they aren't straight up bad guys like the Word Bearers for example. They just seem to be doing things for the greater good, and that unfortunately involves siding with the traitors. They are the antagonists, and they do some pretty terrible things, but I can't help but sympathize with them a bit.
