it was amazing

Volume 6 disaster strikes and the girls are the victims of a break in, its not all bad Daisy reacquaints herself with the volatile Ingrid, Susan’s dad moves in and Esther finds herself a new job in a comic book store resulting in unrequited attention of its patrons.

Giant Days has some cracking quotes, these are my favourites from this volume.

#1 - Esther on being asked to clean another oven at Baker Max

“God why do you torment your darkling daughter so? Send me a sign that you haven’t forgotten me.”

#2 - Ed being asked by Susan to prepare Daisy and Esther for going to the rough pub

“You want me to what, Susan? Prepare an area where two naive idiots can watch Roadhouse starring Patrick Swayze?”

#3 - Esther on finding out her elderly neighbour worked at a sandwich factory that introduced the triangular sandwich packet.

“I can’t imagine life before the triangular sandwich packet, it must have been a bloodbath”

#4 - Daisy on the clientele of the rough pub

“They look like the sort of men who get straight on the old cannibalism, post-apocalypse”

#5 - Esther describing her Halloween costume to Susan

“A sexy haunted speedboat, Susan. Driverless, sunk, razzing it up on the ocean bed”

#6 - Susan’s reasoning for becoming a doctor

“I’m only becoming a doctor so I can write prescriptions for myself”

Still consistently brilliant! On to volume 7!
