The reviews describing this book as a romance almost caused me to steer clear of it. But I'm glad I didn't. The romance is an important component, and King did get a bit schmaltzy. But, it's an enjoyable read and I burned right through it, despite the length. Whereas Under the Dome felt like it could have been condensed into a short story, and the reader wouldn't have missed out on much, this one merits the volume. It's well-written and King adds an interesting twist to time travel. And, just in case you're intimidated by King's name - IT'S NOT HORROR.

P.S. I will never look at poundcake the same way again.
