I really enjoyed this book, the tale was perhaps a tad farfetched and in the hands of a different author may have come across as such, but Follet manages to make an apparently unlikely tale feel believable, perhaps because of the tremendously humanistic view of the characters. The fears and tribulations of finding love in later years, the petty jealousy that so easily infects our lives. Compared to a few books read of late this one deserves close to the "Full Monty" on the star scale. In the end perhaps a lost star in that it really is just a little too far fetched but a wonderful read, well paced and detailed at the same time, I am looking forward to seeking out other titles from this author. All in all a well scribed, suspenseful and interesting book with quality characterisastions and human frailties built in.
