This was a fascinating view of the "evolution" of an idea. I never realized that Darwin himself didn't come up with evolution, that theory had apparently been around for decades. He just filled in the puzzle of how. Stott did a great job following an idea (and it's opposition) from ancient Greece to Arabia to Renaissance Italy to France and finally to England and several places and people in between. This was an interesting history.
