I felt too detached from this story; it had a lot less of an emotional impact on me than Life As We Knew It did. I can't really guess why, since Alex's story was actually more devastating than Miranda's. Perhaps it was because this was in 3rd person, opposed to the realness that Life As We Knew It's 1st person diary format offered. Still, despite the emotional attachment this story lacked, I couldn't stop reading - like a train wreck, I couldn't pry my eyes from New York City's horror. I am hopeful that the last book in this series will not only draw me in like the first book, but have some sort of hope-filled conclusion. The world has suffered hard enough as a result of the moon. It'd be nice to see things start to move in a positive direction again.
