This book reminded me of "Practical Magic" with a dash of "Like Water for Chocolate". Claire is the older Waverly daughter, living in the ancestral family home where she uses the enchanted garden to make culinary spells for the townspeople. Sydney is her rebellious younger sister who comes home after 10 years on the road to escape an abusive relationship.

Other than the magic garden, it's a pretty run-of-the-mill chick lit story, about love and family and mother-daughter-sister relationships. It was a quick, fun read.
