it was ok
bookshelves: modern-classics

I feel like I'm missing out on something, but I found this book to be a bit tedious and mostly boring. Maybe I would have enjoyed it more in the throes of teen angst, but I just couldn't relate to it much at all. It has such a fantastic reputation that I feel like I ought to go look up some critical analysis to try to figure out what I'm missing. Am I overlooking some brilliant insight, or am I just at the wrong place in life?

Melanie I couldn't agree more. I don't understand why it is so popular.

Annalyn I read it as a teenager and from what I understand those that read it as a teenager loved it and if they re-read it as an adult, not so much.
