it was amazing

Extremely plainspoken and honest, often funny, Charlie refuses to romanticize or sugarcoat the ups and downs of the remarkable career of the Louvin Brothers. The book centers on their relationship with each other and their parents, mainly their troubled Papa. Whether Charlie planned the book that way or whether time caught up to him (it was published very shortly after he died), it's hard to know, but his long post-brother career is minimized. He recognizes the brother's legacy while honestly explaining he had no idea of the legacy they were creating.
