really liked it
bookshelves: history, nyc

The author spent one summer vacation in college working at Tiffany, in 1945. It was so much fun reading about her every day life - who she saw at Tiffany, what it was like to work there, budgeting, dates, what she wore, the Automat, Broadway shows, everything. The description of being in Times Sqaure (with 2 million people) and seeing Times Tower's news screen light up with the end of the war was electrifying - I felt like I was there. Perfect summer read.
