The author of last year's Caldecott winner, "A Sick Day for Amos McGee" creates another classic story. Vernon the toad finds a new friend - a small blue bird that will not talk despite all of Vernon's efforts. Convinced that Bird is homesick, the two set off on a journey to help him find both his home and his voice.
