The fourth (and I think final) book in the Bayern series by Shannon Hale. This is the story of Rinna, the baby sister of the hero of the series' third book, Razo. Rinna speaks to trees, but after an incident with a local boy, the trees reject her. She feels out of place in her own home, and so follows her brother to work in the castle as a lady-in-waiting for the Queen, Isi, the heroine of the first book in the series. This is where the international adventures really begin, and we see a familiar face show up unexpectedly. Decent, overall, but I liked The Goose Girl and Enna Burning better.

Check out some of Shannon Hale's stand alone books, too. The Princess Academy and Book of a Thousand Days are both knock outs.
