really liked it
Read in May, 2012

The first half of the book is a solid five, the latter half a three to three and half. I didn't finish the last 50 pages (last story). Since these are short stories, it's not that the plot lost traction -- and it makes sense for an author to front-load their best work, and I think Amy (or her editor) clearly did. Some of it was that I got a bit tired of some of the repeated themes by the end of the book -- I was also just mentally and emotionally exhausted by so many stories revolving around suicidal ideations. So read the first half of the book -- it's as great a collection of short stories as I've read, then stop when you need/want to :-)

Michael ... there should be content warnings for suicidal ideation in books. there's nothing worse than running out of prozac, having the sunday night blues and then finding the black dog lurking in a book you were really looking forward to reading :)
