it was amazing

A fast-moving and surprising plot, unusual and well-developed characters, an exotic well-researched historical setting and a love story. I almost gave up on "Thousand Autumns" after the first couple of chapters. I urge you not to do the same. You'll learn about Dutch trade , Japan, medicine, and the role of women in the 18th century, and more. When I finished I began it again and was not disappointed.
