it was amazing
Read in October, 2008

This book was astonishing. It is the memoir of a woman named Jeannette Wells. I can't believe the things this woman went through and yet it's not written as a "feel sorry for me, I'm a victim" type book. She writes about her sorrows in the same matter of fact way as she writes about the quirky things. It took me about 4 days to read it and every night during dinner I'd tell my kids about her crazy parents. They were drawn into her story as well and would ask me each night what was happening in the Glass Castle.
Sensitivity rating - this is an adult book. The language is bad because her father was a foul mouth drunk. There are some body part references - again she lived in some terrible situations. I didn't think anything was too graphic.
