it was amazing

Intense! I'm only on Chapter 8 but no one, young or old, should ever have to witness what Ishmael Beah, his brother, four friends and millions of other teens have witnessed in Sierra Leone's and other country's internal warring factions.

11-9-08 a little late, but....

I've long since finished this inspirational, suspenseful memoir. Even though we know how Beah fares, there are moments right up till the last page where one feels, worries for and wonders about his friends, family and neighbors.

The elements of storytelling were perfect correlations to Achebe's and the entire Freshmen syllabus. As we travel the globe storytelling is an essential aspect to all ancient and many current societies.
