it was ok

An important perspective on the influence of Texas, however the book dragged in the middle for me. I skimmed a chunk, then relished the last chapter that outlined the results of Texas' system (last in nearly every poverty and educational measure). Makes me feel (slightly) better about paying my New York State taxes.
