Rating 3 and 1/2 stars for the whole series. After all the media hype about this series I had to sit down and see what all the fuss was about. Even though I didn't think the erotic scenes were too taboo and sometimes the plot was rather predictable, I still enjoyed the books overall. There is definitely a parallel to the Twilight series, which is not surprising given that this story started as fan fiction. I would have to say that I enjoyed the second book the most and the final installment wrapped the story up in one pretty little bow. My favorite part about the series was uncovering Christian's past and how those events shaped his views on relationships and sexuality. Also, it was interesting to see how Ana, who was initially very skeptical about the whole BDSM aspect, came to accept the "darker" side to her sexuality. I wouldn't say this series will ever be considered a work of fine literature, but it is fun and of course I always enjoy a happy ending. :)
