it was amazing

Read 2 times. Last read June 15, 2020 to June 28, 2020.

Both humorous and endearing

At first, I thought the protagonist was overly crass. As if making fun of fantasy stories and mocking them. But as it progressed, my sarcastic side engaged and my love for fantasy strengthened. The humor sat well with me as it came from a hero that cares about others. Even his enemies. It's endearing and made me laugh on more than one occasion. I didn’t notice any annoying loopholes. The explaining was well done and executed (neither bogged down or lacking), as was the character and world-building. Never got bored and felt fully emerged into the tale. Looked forward to diving into the story every day. Loved it and already preordered the next in the series.
