did not like it
bookshelves: regretted-reading

Bleh. This book started out pretty okay but then went off the over-the-top fanfiction/Mary Sue cliff full speed. The main character was supposedly a super-genius (multiple science PhDs by 19) but was a complete idiot and constantly getting her ass saved, despite waking up and getting all these awesome powers. It really felt like this book was written by a 14 year old girl as a fanfiction attempt. These ancient angels had modern names like Karen and Andrew and Liz and Mimi and used endearments like "baby". The story and language felt so stilted and the whole angel heirarchy was confusing. I will not be continuing this series. The worst part was the tragedy the main character went through and went over and over and over (in agonizing detail....for pages) of someone she knew for all of an hour. I finished the book out of sheer will power and the desire to not let it beat me.
