Jeff Christopherson tells an engaging parable that honestly explores what happens when the church is out of alignment with God's mission. One of the most striking quotes is: "We would exist for ourselves or we would exist for our King's mission. But there could be no middle ground."

The subtitle of the book "A Parable of the Future Church" leads us to the part of the story that provides us with hope. Jeff walks us through what's next for the church. For existing churches, this parable helps us rethink how we do church instead of being stuck in the way we've always done things. Instead of focusing on self-preservation, we ought to sacrificially give ourselves away for the sake of the kingdom.

This is a very quick read that still manages to tell a compelling and thought-provoking story.
