I would like to thank the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book. Unfortunately, it's not a good fit for me, so I'm stopping at 25%. DOWN COMES THE NIGHT was billed as a gothic romance fantasy, so I was anticipating something like a young adult Wuthering Heights with a magical element. To me, it's not gothic at all, just fantasy, which I don't care for. I also didn't find the main character Wren appealing — immature, making dumb decisions. Perhaps her character grows as the story moves on? If you're into YA dark fantasy, you may enjoy this one more than I did.
