Heart-breaking and painful, but honest & moving account of living through the wars in Sierra Leone, and about Beah's time as a child soldier in these wars & his rehabilitation. It is a very brave book that I am glad I read. I've never read anything like it. I will warn that although the violence he records is never gratuitous, it is disturbing, so those with a weak stomach may want to avoid this account.
