really liked it

I watched the movie immediately after finishing, and as everyone most likely can attest to, the book is phenomenally better. I was a little wary of reading it, but I thought it was really enjoyable- I especially found it interesting to read the author's personal connection at the end, having been raised by an African-American maid. Although it almost seemed like an apology letter in some ways, explaining why she never expects to get it completely right.. Either way I think it's incredibly ballsy to write something in another culture or race's dialect.
