I actually listened to this book while I was working in the yard and painting. I know that there are several positive and negative reviews, but I have to say that I liked the book. I do think that Gantos threw in some random trivia here and there, but I still found it interesting enough to keep listening. One of the best parts of listening to the book was the last chapter with an interview of Gantos to understand a little more of why he wrote the book and if there was any validity to his book. I am not sure that I would have given it a Newberry award, as I am sure there are better books out there.
