really liked it

Compared to Wolves of the Calla, I ripped right through this book even taking into account that it's almost half as long. The disparate threads of the story as Roland's ka-tet split up to deal with the two major problems facing them worked pretty well for me. The interplay between Susannah and Mia was interesting as Susannah tried to work out some possible way to wiggle out of her predicament. I suspect some readers would have a huge problem with the meta nature of a certain aspect of the story, but given the way Stephen King has always weaved in nods and references throughout his stories, I didn't find it overly hard to swallow. Onward to the final volume (at least of the main storyline).
