really liked it
bookshelves: kindle-drc, x2020-june, psychological-suspense, suspense-thriller

This is an excellent mystery/suspense that could be considered an homage to Agatha Christie's "country house" plots complete with scads of annoying and just plain awful characters a reader loves to hate with a few likable and sympathetic ones thrown in to keep it interesting. While the story is told from multiple points-of-view, I had no problem keeping everyone straight. And that atmosphere! The setting of a small island off the coast of Ireland with "the folly" (an old building) gave me gothic vibes and the twists were surprising. There were a few issues with continuity but that's a minor quibble.

Thanks to the publisher for the advance digital review copy but I ended up reading the published copy.
