I picked up this audio book in the Young Adult section of my local library. But the amount of sex in it, and the characters in their mid-20's, makes it more of an adult selection. Not recommended for high school library collections.

Clearly I'm reading outside of my usual genres and interests. This romance science fiction novel is appealing in many ways -- excitement, fast action, hot love scenes. I did find the plot full of twists and turns, which got a little tiresome toward the end of the book.

Cailen, a roguish smuggler, finds his life turned upside down over and over. In the course of less than a year, Cailen discovers that his birth father is a powerful Emperor, is blamed for his father and a queen's murder, uncovers a traitor's complicated plan, is shot and stabbed, falls in love and gets married. Whew! That's a lot of action, change, and whiplash in one book. Fans of Kenyon and romance science fiction will likely enjoy this title far more than I did.
