I bought this book on impulse, partially attracted by the "recommended by our staff" note in the bookshop, and also the notion of reading a book about London set around the time the GFC hit.

It didn't live up to the billing. The GFC is really a bit player and only affects the residents of one house. I found that it read a bit like an ITV 6 part drama - maybe something like I imagine "Cold Feet" would have been like. Having said that, it was quite enjoyable in the way that comfort food is. I raced through it, not particularly well written, quite predictable.
