it was amazing

Clear discussion of the how nations are governed and various factors that affect their success. Narrows things down to a need for a strong state, rule of law, and accountability, without which he claims no nation will succeed permanently and will eventually change because of revolution or external forces. Credits much to his mentor, Samuel Huntington.

Much of what he said sounds extremely relevant to today's politically polarized society.

I'm waiting to read the second volume.
