Read 2 times. Last read May 15, 2020 to May 25, 2020.

I liked this novel so much that I started re-reading (listening) it the instant I'd finished it. Reading the first couple of chapters I was wondering where it was headed? But then it started to make sense. The language is simple, even plain everyday American. The characters exactly the same - we're in a small coastal town in Maine. But the tension builds - evaporates - builds - and so on in a quite unique way. Olive Kitteridge is the main character and we meet her at several stages of her life. She's a bitch, but we do get under her skin along the way!

This book won a Pulitzer. Small wonder. I'm half way through my second listen, enjoying every moment.
